"Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intel to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars," Luna tweeted. "He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives."

Freshman Congressman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Pinellas County, FL) was elected to Congress this year as the first Mexican-American woman ever chosen to represent Florida. She is a member of the House Freedom Caucus and the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus.

Luna on Wednesday unveiled a bill that seeks to remove Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.),  the former top Democrat of the House Intelligence Committee, from Congress over his claims of collusion between former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.

"Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham report coming out makes you unfit for office. Ethics should investigate," she wrote.

The Gateway Pundit reported that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy considered removing Adam Schiff (D-CA) from Congress as well as pursuing possible criminal charges following the release of the Durham Report.

“You had Adam Schiff, who was chairman of the Intel Committee, lying day after day to the American public that he had proof, that he knew the proof,” McCarthy said. “Now we’re finding in the Durham Report his own staff are threatened witnesses. I mean, why is this individual still even in Congress? And why does he think he can even run for higher office after what he did?”

“Now, it’s time that people have consequences for their actions, and you’ve got to clean this up where this can never happen again. When you talk about the threat to democracy, this is exactly what we’re talking about,” McCarthy added.

The full Durham report was released by the Justice Department on Monday, May 15 after a year-long investigation in a report that spans more than 300 pages.

"The Durham Report makes clear that the Russian Collusion was a lie from day one and Schiff knowingly used his position in an attempt to divide our country," Luna added.

Schiff has repeatedly maintained there was "clear evidence on the issue of collusion" between the Kremlin and Trump's 2016 campaign

"I don't want to go into specifics, but I will say that there is evidence that is not circumstantial. But as I've said all along, there's plenty of evidence of collusion," Schiff told Meet The Press in 2017.
