Tidings Media (www.Tidings.News) has officially been appointed as a brand ambassador for the National Weather Service's NOAA "Weather Ready Nation" emergency communications team.

The Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador™ initiative is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) effort to formally recognize NOAA partners who are improving the nation's readiness, responsiveness, and overall resilience against extreme weather, water, and climate events. As a WRN Ambassador, partners commit to working with NOAA and other Ambassadors to strengthen national resilience against extreme weather. In effect, the WRN Ambassador initiative helps unify the efforts across government, non-profits, academia, and private industry toward making the nation more ready, responsive, and resilient against extreme environmental hazards. Weather-Ready Nation (WRN) is a strategic outcome where society's response should be equal to the risk from all extreme weather, water, and climate hazards.

Tidings is working in cooperation with the National Weather Service to help get information out to our Tampa Bay communities in the event of severe weather so that people can be prepared. Tidings Media founder and editor David Happe spent several years on the Disaster Action Team with the American Red Cross in Minneapolis and then St. Petersburg, Florida before starting Tidings Media in 2020.

"Ultimately, a Weather-Ready Nation empowers everyone to make life-saving decisions that also prevent devastating economic losses. It's all of us working together to become a nation known for its resiliency in the face of deadly weather events" said David Happe, Weather-Ready-Nation Ambassador for the National Weather Service. "Working with the National Weather Service and our county emergency preparedness teams, Tidings Media will actively engage to help keep the people of Tampa Bay informed, prepared and safe. I am thankful to have Tidings Media represent the NWS and work alongside our local emergency management teams to help keep people safe."

Tidings shares weather data and real time local information to the NWS. Tidings forecasts are tailored to Tampa Bay tri-county areas of Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties by AccuWeather and can pinpoint severe weather with push alerts through our free email blast system.
