Freedom Of The Press Resurges As Tidings Media Sets to Launch 12 Florida Community News Sites at www.tidings.town.news

Tidings Media is launching 12 hyperlocal community news and events websites in Florida in 2026, including :  Tampa, Tallahassee, Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando, Port St. Lucie, Fort Lauderdale, Cape Coral, Hialeah, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and Zephyrhills, Florida.  

January 1, 2026:  Tidings Media announced the launch of 12 community centric hyperlocal alternative news websites for Florida.  The sites are expected to be live within the first quarter of 2026. The objective of the websites is to retake community journalism from the hands of the mainstream conglomerates and return authentic reporting to local journalists. Tidings will be adding volunteer credentialed reporters, contributors, and commissioned salespeople in each local market later in 2026 to support each of the sites with content and advertising.  Infrastructure and launch first, and then growth.

The websites will feature relevant local content including curated news and local user submissions. Reporters, freelancers and community members are encouraged to submit local content for publication. Each community website will feature local content including an events calendar with user submissions, weather, classifieds, comments, local and regional news and more. Community members can subscribe to receive event notifications, local alerts, and information via relevant community email newsletters. Tidings Media will share cross promotional news and advertising with other media partnerships.
