Did CDC Director Rochelle Walensky Resign Over Showdown With Florida's Anna Paulina Luna?

On April 27, 2023, United States House of Representatives Anna Paulina Luna (R-Pinellas,FL) directed a letter to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky, demanding answers as to how the agency misled the American people and forced them to adhere to unclear and contradictory Covid-19 mandates. Rep. Luna was joined by Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and Eli Crane (R-AZ).  The subject of the letter was testing, forced masks and vaccine efficacy.  

The following week, Rochelle Walensky resigned.  The resignation likely won't stop Luna and the House Freedom Caucus from initiating a congressional inquiry into the actions of Walensky or the CDC, but the timing of Walensky's resignation is suspect.  The full text of the Luna letter is below.
